Promotes and carries out the programs and policies of the Canadian Labour Congress, the labour movement and all workers rights.

Has 24 affiliates associated with the council. Provides support to community based organizations.

Supports various events throughout Barrie, and the municipalities of Innisfil, New Tecumseth, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Sprinwater, Essa, Base Borden, Adjala-Tosorontio, and Oro-Medonte.

When called upon will organize events in the city, lobby municipal and provincial government on behalf of workers.

Hours Third Tue of every month at 6 pm (except Jul and Aug) at SCETF office 351 King Street, Unit #3, Barrie, L4N 6B5, see website for details, public is welcome

Eligibility No restrictions to attend meetings
Members and affiliates represent local unions, lodges which are part of a National and/or International union, all members must be affiliated with the Canadian Labour Congress.
